Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow allegedly used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers involved in the abduction of the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, along with her twin sons.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to multiple reports, the structure located in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road in Ibadan was pulled down on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security support from the Nigeria Police Force.

Authorities said the building was allegedly used as a hideout by the kidnappers who abducted Adelabu’s younger sister, Mrs. Busayo John-Paul, and her 12-year-old twin boys in Ibadan earlier in June. The victims were reportedly taken during an early morning attack while heading out from their residence.

Security agencies later carried out a rescue operation that led to the release of the victims after days in captivity, following coordinated efforts and pressure on the abductors.

The state government said the demolition forms part of ongoing measures to dismantle criminal networks and discourage the use of residential buildings as kidnapping hideouts. Officials have also linked the action to broader efforts aimed at strengthening security across vulnerable communities in the state.

The incident has further intensified concerns over rising kidnapping cases in parts of Oyo State, prompting renewed calls for tighter security surveillance and community vigilance.
