Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho has reportedly issued a two-hour ultimatum to Fulani leaders in Igboho, Oyo State, demanding the release or production of residents allegedly abducted in the community.
Gatekeeepers News reports thst the development comes amid heightened concerns over insecurity and kidnapping incidents in parts of Oyo State. Reports indicate that Igboho gave the deadline following complaints from residents over alleged abductions and the growing fear among community members. He warned that failure to comply with the ultimatum could trigger further actions aimed at addressing the situation.
The incident has generated tension within the community, with residents closely monitoring developments as authorities work to maintain order. Security concerns have remained a major issue in several areas of the state in recent months, especially after the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, which sparked widespread outrage and renewed calls for stronger measures against kidnappers.
The latest threat from Igboho follows his recent campaign against insecurity in the South-West and his push for the operation of the Iru Ekun Security Network, a security outfit he says is designed to flush criminal elements out of forests across the region.
As of the time of reporting, security agencies had not issued an official statement on the ultimatum, while residents and community leaders have appealed for calm and urged all parties to pursue lawful means of resolving the matter.
