Operatives of Lagos and Ogun state police commands have rescued five kidnap victims and arrested 88 suspects during a coordinated security operation targeting criminal hideouts in forests along the boundary between both states.

Gatekeepers News reports that four suspected kidnappers were also killed during the operation.  The operation, codenamed “Operation Kosaye,” involved joint tactical teams from both commands and was launched to tackle kidnapping, armed robbery and other violent crimes in the Lagos-Ogun corridor.

Police authorities said the operation focused on clearing forested areas believed to be used as bases by criminal gangs.

According to the police, security operatives recovered weapons and other items during the raids, while the rescued victims were safely reunited with their families. The suspects arrested are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution.

The development has drawn commendation from Dapo Abiodun, who praised the collaboration between the two police commands and described the operation as a major step in improving security along the Lagos-Ogun axis.

Police authorities said similar joint operations would continue as part of efforts to dismantle criminal networks and enhance public safety in both states.
