Gatekeepers News reports that Adams, who played for Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African national team, was reportedly found dead on Saturday morning at a residential building in Schotschekloof, Cape Town. His passing comes just weeks after helping South Africa make history by reaching the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup for the first time.

The midfielder featured in all three of South Africa’s group-stage matches, starting against Mexico and the Czech Republic before making a substitute appearance in the decisive 1-0 victory over South Korea.
