Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election following a high-level meeting in Osogbo, Osun State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the endorsement came after a meeting attended by Accord Party National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem, members of the party’s National Working Committee and state chairmen from across the country.
The gathering focused on the party’s political direction ahead of the 2027 general election and preparations for the forthcoming Osun governorship election.
According to the party leaders, Tinubu remains their preferred presidential candidate for the next general election. They also stressed the need for a peaceful and credible governorship election in Osun, warning against violence, voter intimidation and the misuse of security agencies during the poll.
The endorsement marks a significant political development as parties and influential political figures continue to realign ahead of the 2027 elections. It also follows internal discussions within the Accord Party over whether to field its own presidential candidate or support Tinubu’s re-election bid.
