EV Motors has partnered with Balmoral Group to reward winners of the headline celebrity bouts at the 2026 edition of Chaos in the Ring with two brand-new electric vehicles, raising the stakes ahead of the boxing and entertainment event scheduled for July 31 in Lagos.
Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made during a press conference at the company’s Lagos headquarters, where both organisations unveiled the vehicles and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting Nigerian talent and supporting the country’s growing sports and entertainment industry.
Under the partnership, the winners of the much-anticipated celebrity boxing matches between Portable and Charles Okocha, as well as Mr Real and Idowest, will each receive an electric vehicle.
Chairman of EV Motors, Dr. Ned Okonkwo, described the collaboration as a long-term partnership between two Nigerian brands focused on creating opportunities within the country.
“This partnership isn’t just for now. It’s a long-term relationship between two Nigerian brands that believe in the Nigerian dream,” he said.
Highlighting the company’s commitment to homegrown talent, Okonkwo added: “We don’t believe in Japa. We believe in transforming Japa into Japada by creating opportunities here at home. Nigeria has some of the greatest talents in the world, and boxing is one of the strongest examples of that.”
He said the initiative goes beyond presenting vehicles to winners, noting that it is aimed at rewarding excellence, inspiring young Nigerians and encouraging them to pursue their dreams without leaving the country.
“This isn’t simply about giving away cars. It’s about changing lives, rewarding excellence and showing young Nigerians that they can achieve their dreams here. We want to continue supporting platforms that celebrate Nigerian talent and create lasting impact,” he added.
Founder of Chaos in the Ring and Group Managing Director of Balmoral Group, Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, said the partnership aligns with the platform’s vision of transforming African boxing through innovation, entertainment and international exposure.
“Talent is the greatest export Nigeria has. Africa has never lacked talent. What we’ve lacked is a platform,” Adamu said.
He noted that since its launch, Chaos in the Ring has evolved into one of Africa’s fastest-growing boxing entertainment brands, combining professional boxing with celebrity contests and live performances. According to him, previous editions generated more than two billion video views and 4.2 billion digital impressions, while securing global distribution through sports streaming platform DAZN.
Adamu also said the initiative has improved the earnings and careers of Nigerian boxers, with some fighters now signing international contracts and competing on the global stage.
“Our dream has always been to reverse the narrative, so that international athletes begin looking to Africa as a destination for opportunity. We’re already seeing that happen,” he said.
The organisers said this year’s event, scheduled for Friday, July 31, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, will feature elite boxing contests, celebrity rivalries, music and entertainment, with the two electric vehicles awaiting the winners of the headline fights.
