Hon. Abdulkadir Rahis, representing Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, at the weekend distributed food items to constituents as part of efforts to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship and support vulnerable households across the constituency.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the distribution, which attracted beneficiaries from different wards within MMC, is aimed at providing immediate relief to families, particularly low-income households and other vulnerable members of the community.

Hon. Rahis, who handed over the food items to a committee drawn from his constituency for easy distribution to the beneficiaries, pledged to sustain the initiative and continue to support his constituents through various empowerment and humanitarian interventions.

The Federal Legislator said the initiative was driven by his commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents and ensuring that the people he represents feel the impact of effective representation.

“Representation is not only about making laws in Abuja; it is also about listening to our people, understanding their challenges and taking practical steps to improve their lives. This intervention is our modest way of providing relief to vulnerable families, and I will continue to do more to put smile on the faces on my constituents ” Hon. Rahis said.

‎Each beneficiary received 25kg of rice, one carton of spaghetti and five litres of vegetable oil, providing households with essential food items to support their families.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, especially at a period when many families are struggling with the rising cost of food and other essential commodities.
