The Sokoto State Government has dissociated itself from any person of any status that hides under the pretext of religion to undermine or disrespect the holy prophet Muhammad PBUH, his parents as well as his companions.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Government further restates its total obedience and respects to personality of Prophet Muhammad PBUH,his parents,households and companions,and urged people of the state to continue to show love and compassion to prophet Muhammad PBUH.

On the recent religious tensions that engulfed some parts of the metropolis, the state Government has constituted a committee of ulamas to exermine the remote and immediate causes of such crisis, and to advice the Government on the appropriate measures to be taken in the interest of the State.

Further more, the Government has ordered the full investigation into the attack and killing at Musa Lukuwa Jumu’at mosque Mabera and ordered the closure of the mosque (crime scene) till further notice.

The Government has appealed to people in the state to desist from incitive statements that could jeopardized the peaceful coexistence that Sokoto is known for.

The Government has assured of its commitment to protecting the lives and property of every citizen in the state.
