Sharon Ademefun Adeleke, entrepreneur and elder sister of Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that she holds weekly financial meetings with the singer to discuss his spending.
Gatekeepers News reports that Sharon, who spoke during an appearance on The Morayo Show, said she regularly monitors Davido’s finances, particularly his spending on luxury cars and jewellery.
She said the meetings were important to ensure that the singer understood how his money was being spent.
“Me and him will sit down. We will have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.
Sharon said luxury cars and jewellery were among the major areas where she often advised her brother to exercise restraint.
“One of the major things I’m always getting on my brother is jewellery and cars. My God!” she said.
She said she would repeatedly ask Davido to stop buying the items, but noted that he often went ahead with new purchases shortly afterwards.
“And I will now say, ‘David, please, no more cars, no more jewellery.’ Twenty-four hours later, you will start seeing it on the blogs that he bought another car,” Sharon said. (TheCable Lifestyle)
Sharon, who is the chief financial officer of Davido Music Worldwide, also spoke about her approach to marriage and how she built her wig-making business.
She said she learnt to make wigs after becoming frustrated with the difficulty of getting skilled hairstylists and wig makers who were often fully booked.
“I learnt how to make wigs because I was frustrated because really good hairstylists and wig makers are always busy,” she said.
Sharon said her entry into the wig-making business was not something she had initially planned.
“I’m a big believer that when God gives you a business, you kind of fall into it sometimes. It is not something that you planned,” she said.
She added that she later underwent training in different parts of the world as she developed the business.
