At least seven people have been killed in separate attacks across parts of Plateau State, while more than 20 hectares of farmland were reportedly destroyed.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incidents occurred over two days in several communities, according to the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM).
The association said two men, identified as 25-year-old Phillip Luka and 34-year-old Sunday John, were killed on Thursday at a mining site in Kworos Gangare, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area.
It also reported the destruction of farmlands in Jol, Riyom, Exland, Gashish, Rapwomol and Dorowa Babuje. The association said the damage had threatened the livelihoods and food security of affected families.
According to the group, two people were killed at Nghar, Exland, in Gashish District, while three others died in Gassa, Barkin Ladi.
The three victims were identified as Ishaya Pam Dung, 47; Barnabas Gyang Jack, 23; and Manasseh Luka Mushwer, 26.
The BYM said the latest deaths brought the reported toll from the attacks to seven, comprising two miners killed at Kworos Gangare, two people at Nghar and three at Gassa.
The attacks reportedly occurred despite the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu LGAs following renewed violence in the state.
The association called on security agencies to strengthen intelligence-led operations and identify what it described as criminal hideouts and operational enclaves to prevent further attacks.
It also urged the National Assembly, National Human Rights Commission, humanitarian agencies and international organisations to monitor the security and humanitarian situation in the affected communities and support farmers whose farmlands were destroyed.
The fresh incidents add to a series of deadly attacks reported across Plateau in recent weeks, including killings in Barkin Ladi, Mangu, Riyom and Jos South.
