Maulud Nabiyy: Tinubu Greet Muslims – IGP Orders Security Beef-Up

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian Muslims on this year’s commemoration of Maulud Nabiy, the birth of the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu did this through a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Sunday.

The president urged Muslims to use the period for deep reflection and remembrance of the prophet’s exemplary conduct and noble teachings.

Tinubu also urged them to dedicate the Maulud holiday to praying for the country and showing empathy and compassion to one another.

He said, “As we mark the Maulud, we should all reflect on the life lived by Prophet Muhammad, exemplified by purity, selflessness, perseverance, kindness, and compassion. We must endeavour to imbibe those virtues.”

Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun through a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has assured Nigerians of a peaceful and secure atmosphere during the celebrations.

IGP said Command Commissioners of Police and their respective Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General (AIG) of Police had been directed to implement robust security measures.

According to Egbetokun, the security measures include patrols on major highways, enhanced security at places of worship, and monitoring of public gathering points to ensure the safety of everyone.

He added that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) had strategically deployed personnel and resources nationwide to prevent potential security threats during the festivities.
