Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has lifted the suspension on Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order of the state, Fidelis Mnyim.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Governor announced his reinstatement during the state executive council meeting in Makurdi, capital of the state on Monday.
Recall that the Governor suspended the Attorney General on October 23 following his unilateral decision to include the state as a party in suit challenging the legality of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula briefed newsmen after the meeting.
Kula noted that Mnyim was recalled from his suspension after he withdrew the state from list of states seeking constitutionality of laws establishing the two anti-graft agencies.
The press Secretary said the commissioner met the requirements for his reinstatement.
He added, “The council approved a counterpart funding of N30.2bn, representing 60 per cent, for the construction of five rural roads across the three senatorial zones.”
“The roads for construction are Awajir/Oju, Adikpo/Kotiyo/Vandeikya, Ushongo/Har, Igwumale/Agila, and Obagaji/Okokolo/Agagbe roads.”
