There is a heavy police presence at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national headquarters in Abuja’s Wadata Plaza ahead of the party’s crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting today.
Gatekeepers News reports that armed policemen have been deployed to secure the area, with some staff members allowed to enter the premises while others are restricted.
A PDP official, who spoke to Channels Television on condition of anonymity, revealed that the police presence is aimed at preventing the party’s proposed Expanded Caucus Meeting from holding.
The policemen have cordoned off Dalaba Street, the road leading to Wadata Plaza, in a show of force. Despite the heavy security presence, some party staff members were allowed to access the secretariat without resistance.
