Okpebholo Postpones Commissioning Of Edo Line To Honour Buhari
Edo State Government has announced the postponement of the commissioning of the new Edo Line, scheduled to hold on Monday, July 14, 2025, in Benin City, in respect of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Gatekeepers Newreports that in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, the government expressed its profound condolences to the immediate bereaved family of the former President and all Nigerians in this moment of national grief and mourning.

The statement reads: With heavy hearts, but in total submission to the will of Almighty God, the Edo State Government received the news of the demise of our former President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.

Consequently, it is hereby announced for the information of the general public, particularly invited guests and stakeholders that the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, in consultation with the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, His Excellency, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has directed that the commissioning of the new Edo Line scheduled to hold on Monday 14th July, 2025 in Benin City, be postponed indefinitely.

All inconveniencies associated with this sudden postponement is sincerely regretted. A new date for the official commissioning shall be communicated to the general public in due course.
