Five Nigerian fintech companies have been recognised among the top 300 global fintechs of 2025 by CNBC in partnership with Statista.
Gatekeepers News reports that PalmPay, Moniepoint, OPay, Piggyvest, and Interswitch made the list, which was compiled based on key performance indicators such as revenue, growth, and employee headcount.
PalmPay, Moniepoint, OPay, and Interswitch were listed under the payments category, while Piggyvest was recognized under the Wealth Tech category. According to CNBC, the companies were selected based on desk research conducted by Statista, alongside editorial input from the publication.
“To be recognised as one of the world’s top fintech companies by CNBC and Statista is a powerful affirmation of our mission to build a more inclusive financial system,” said Sofia Zab, Founding Chief Marketing Officer at PalmPay.
“It is an honour to be named as one of the world’s top fintech companies by CNBC. Moniepoint’s inclusion in this prestigious, authoritative list is a testament to the hard work and success of the entire team,” said Tosin Eniolorunda, Group CEO of Moniepoint Inc.
The list highlights the global distribution of top fintech companies, with the United States leading with 126 companies, followed by the UK with 38 and Singapore with 16. Nigeria, despite being home to over 200 fintech companies, has only five companies on the list, with Moniepoint being listed as a UK company due to its incorporation in the country.
