President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the disbursement of all allowances for the Super Falcons, ahead of their crucial clash in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final.
Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made on Thursday by Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Dikko confirmed that the players have received all their entitlements, including payments related to the upcoming final match against Morocco.
According to the NSC chairman, the payments were made on July 23 to avoid any potential disputes, distractions, or delays in the team’s preparation.
The statement reads, “ Mr President has also directed the NFF through my office to ensure that all players receive their due entitlements before the close of business tomorrow, Friday, 25th July 2025, except if the players themselves decide otherwise. That is the expectation. No delays. No issues.”
The Super Falcons are on course to win Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title.
The team defeated South Africa 2-1 in the semi-final with a late strike from Gloria Alozie.
WAFCON final is scheduled for Saturday at 9 PM at Olympic Stadium in Rabat. The Nigerian team which is aiming for its 10th title, will face host nation Morocco.
