FG Reduces K1 De Ultimate’s No-Fly Ban To One Month

Federal Government has reduced the indefinite no-fly ban imposed on Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, to one month.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, announced this in a statement on Wednesday, saying the move followed critical consultations with stakeholders in the aviation sector.

According to Keyamo, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is to reduce K1 De Ultimate’s flight ban to a one-month period.

The incident occurred on August 5, 2025, when K1 De Ultimate attempted to stop a ValueJet aircraft at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja from moving. The NCAA subsequently placed an indefinite no-fly ban on him and sought a comprehensive criminal investigation and prosecution.

However, following K1 De Ultimate’s apology and demonstrations of penitence, the minister announced that the criminal complaints lodged against him have been withdrawn. Keyamo also revealed that K1 De Ultimate will be engaged as an airport security protocol ambassador.

In a related development, Keyamo announced the withdrawal of a case against a passenger, Comfort Emmanson, who was involved in an altercation with cabin crew members on an Ibom Air flight. Comfort was placed on a lifetime no-fly ban list, remanded in custody, and charged in court for assault. The minister ordered the airline operators to lift the ban and facilitate her release from prison.

The aviation minister has also ordered a retreat for aviation security personnel to retrain them on how to deal with errant and disruptive passengers and de-escalate potentially explosive situations.

The minister also announced that the licenses of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba of ValueJet, which were suspended, will be restored after a one-month ban, provided they undergo mandatory professional re-appraisal.
