Lagos State Government has sealed two residential complexes in Ikota GRA, Eti-Osa, for illegally discharging untreated wastewater into public drains and the environment.
Gatekeepers News reports that the enforcement, according to the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, was carried out on Monday, September 8, 2025, by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO). The affected properties are EMCEL Court Phase I and Well Stock Apartments, both located on Lantana Avenue.
Wahab, in a post on his official X account, said the facilities were “deliberately discharging wastewater into public drains and the environment, thereby causing public nuisance, environmental pollution and endangering human life.”
He further urged Lagos residents to adopt proper wastewater management and hygiene practices, stressing that such measures are vital for sustaining a safe and healthy environment across the state.
