Tinubu: Those Speaking Ill Of Nigeria Should Stop — The Worst Is Over

President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to refrain from making negative remarks about the country, insisting that the nation has turned a corner and is now on the path to progress.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Tinubu made the remarks on Tuesday in Owerri, Imo State, during the presentation of a book authored by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

“Nigeria has just turned the corner. You will see prosperity; you will have it. Those who are talking ill of this country should stop doing so. Sixty-five years of independence is not a joke,” the president said.

He praised Nigeria’s founding fathers, noting that their vision of unity, inclusive governance, and care for the vulnerable remains central to his administration’s agenda.
“We are proud of our forefathers. We are proud of what they believed: that Nigeria should be one, that it should be an all-inclusive government, that we must take care of the elderly, care for the vulnerable, educate our children, and build a welfare system that will strengthen our healthcare,” he said.

Highlighting recent improvements in healthcare, Tinubu said:
“Today, Nigeria can say confidently that we have well-equipped hospitals, and we can treat critical illnesses such as cancer and other illnesses.”

The president acknowledged that Nigeria’s past economic and political choices nearly brought the country to collapse but maintained that a new direction has been set.
“I stand before you confident yet humble enough to say that Nigeria is no longer where it was ten years ago; we have passed that,” Tinubu declared. “We promised a change; today I can confidently tell you that the worst is over.”

He pledged that his administration would not backtrack, vowing to lead the country toward prosperity.
“There will be no turning back. I will lead Nigerians to the mountaintop,” he said.
