Prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Rahmatullah Goldfish Ilavbare, has announced her resignation from the party after eleven years of active service, citing personal commitments and a desire to contribute to national development from a non-partisan standpoint.

Gatekeepers News reports that in her resignation letter dated October 20, 2025 and addressed to party leadership, Ilavbare expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve in various capacities at the local, state, and national levels, describing her years in the APC as a period of loyalty and dedication to the party’s ideals.

During her time with the APC, she held several notable positions, including membership in the Presidential Campaign Councils of 2015, 2019, and 2023; Deputy Women Leader for Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State; Member of the Edo 2020 Gubernatorial Campaign Council; and Deputy Director (Welfare Committee) in the 2024 Gubernatorial Campaign Council. She also served as a National Delegate during the 2022 Presidential Primary Election.

Ilavbare explained that her decision was driven by a need to focus on her studies, her growing family, and the restructuring of her law firm.

“I have come to realize that my vision for a ‘Greater Nigeria’ can best be achieved by adopting an apolitical stance,” she stated.

While stepping away from partisan politics, she reaffirmed her commitment to national service and expressed optimism in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, saying she believes he “will set Nigeria on the path of greatness.”

She concluded her letter with a reflection on the National Anthem, urging Nigerians to uphold truth, justice, and integrity as guiding values for the nation’s progress.
