President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on an official visit to Borno and Bauchi states before proceeding to Lagos for the Christmas and end-of-year holidays.
Gatekeepers News reports that according to a statement issued by his special adviser on information and strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president will begin the trip in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
While there, Tinubu is expected to inaugurate selected projects carried out by the Babagana Zulum administration with support from the federal government, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen reconstruction and development in the North-East.
The visit will also include Tinubu’s presence at a private social event in Maiduguri, reflecting continued political and personal ties with key figures in the state.
From Borno, the president will travel to Bauchi on a condolence visit following the death of Dahiru Bauchi, a respected Islamic scholar and prominent leader of the Tijjaniyya Muslim Brotherhood, whose passing in November drew tributes from across the country.
The president is expected to pay respects to the Bauchi State government and the cleric’s family during the visit.
After completing his engagements in the North, the president will head to Lagos, where he will spend the Christmas and New Year holidays.
While in the commercial capital, Tinubu is scheduled to participate in several cultural and ceremonial activities, including attending the Eyo Festival later in December.
The annual festival, to be held at Tafawa Balewa Square, will celebrate notable personalities who have contributed to Lagos State’s political and social history, underscoring the city’s enduring cultural heritage and legacy.
