Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against activist and online commentator Adeotun Onajobi, popularly known as Just Adetoun.
Gatekeepers News reports that the charges filled over allegations of cyberbullying Governor Dapo Abiodu, were instituted at the Federal High Court in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Confirming the development on Monday, the state police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said Onajobi was accused of publishing what the police described as false and damaging allegations against the Ogun State Government and the Governor through social media platforms. The police said the alleged actions contravened provisions of the Cybercrimes Act.
“Adetoun Onajobi ‘F’ is an internet blogger who, in recent times, has used social media and other internet-enabled computer platforms to publish false accusations against the Ogun State Government and to further bully the Governor of Ogun State, in breach of the Cybercrimes Act,” the statement said.
Babaseyi disclosed that the activist was invited by the command on January 2, 2026, to respond to the allegations but failed to appear. According to him, Onajobi, through her lawyer, informed the police that she was “medically indisposed” and could not honour the invitation.
“Rather than honour the police invitation, the suspect, through her lawyer, wrote to the Police claiming she was medically indisposed and unable to attend the meeting,” the statement added.
The police said a medical report attached to the letter was later found to be false following investigations. Babaseyi said the doctor who allegedly issued the report was arrested and later admitted that the document was fabricated at the instruction of Onajobi during a phone conversation, which was facilitated by her lawyer.
The police spokesperson said the doctor has since been arraigned on charges of conspiracy, uttering a false document
and obstructing the course of justice, while efforts are ongoing to ensure Onajobi appears before the court to answer the charges filed against her.
The case follows a series of online videos and commentaries in which Onajobi criticised the administration of Governor Abiodun, particularly over the handling of the emergency medical response involving former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua after a reported road accident on December 29, 2025.
The Ogun State Police Command said it will pursue the matter to its logical conclusion, stressing that no individual is above the law and that the legal process will be allowed to take its full course.
