Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has approached Court of Appeal to contest his terrorism conviction and the life sentence imposed on him by Federal High Court.
Gatekeepers News reports that his lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the move on Wednesday in a post on his verified X account, saying Kanu personally filed the appeal at the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal.
The appeal is expected to ask the appellate court to overturn the conviction and sentence, with Kanu’s legal team insisting that the judgement should be reviewed and set aside.
