Edo APC Celebrates Successful National Convention

All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully conducted its National Convention at Eagle Square, Abuja, held from March 27 to 28, 2026, with top party leaders, stakeholders, and political figures from across the country in attendance.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement signed by Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie, State Publicity Secretary of Edo state chapter of the party All Progressives Congress (APC), the convention was described as a strong display of the party’s dedication to unity, inclusiveness, cohesion, integrity, and a structured democratic process.

The affirmation method used during the exercise was said to have been transparently adopted and communicated to all accredited delegates ahead of the event.

Before the convention, state executive committees from 36 states of the federation were reviewed, while Ekiti and Osun States were excluded in line with party decisions and existing electoral arrangements, consistent with the party’s earlier schedule.

During the convention, officials elected to lead the party at the national level were unanimously affirmed by delegates, a development the party said reflects strong confidence in its leadership.

The chapter stated that the contention outcome further highlights its commitment to strengthening internal democracy, noting that the convention was conducted without rancour, intimidation, or any conduct contrary to democratic standards.

It also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as his visionary leadership and support, which it said has continued to reinforce the party’s structure and direction under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the statement, APC now controls 32 states across the federation, which it described as evidence of continued public trust in its leadership and governance approach. It added that governors elected on the party’s platform remain committed to its vision of national development.

The statement further noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda has continued to influence governance across different levels, contributing to economic reforms and policy decisions aimed at national growth.

While acknowledging ongoing challenges in the country, the party maintained that such issues are not unique to Nigeria, citing global economic and security pressures. It expressed confidence that the country would overcome its difficulties and emerge stronger.

The chapter urged leaders at all levels of government to continue promoting peace, unity, and development, while encouraging citizens to remain supportive of efforts aimed at national progress.

The statement concluded with a call for collective commitment toward building a better Nigeria.
