The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Delta State has deployed no fewer than 956 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration.
Gatekeepers News reports that State Commandant, Igbo Chinedu, said the deployment is part of a “swift response” strategy targeting identified black spots and flashpoints across Delta.
He explained that the personnel will be stationed to secure public spaces, critical infrastructure, and communities that typically record a rise in criminal activity during festive periods.
Addressing officers ahead of the operation, Chinedu stressed the need for professionalism and operational discipline, urging them to go beyond routine patrols by aligning intelligence with proactive action.
He also charged officers to prioritise the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, a core mandate of the NSCDC, particularly in Delta where oil facilities and public utilities are often targets of vandalism.
While expressing confidence in the corps’ readiness, the commandant assured residents of adequate security throughout the Easter period.
Chinedu further emphasised inter-agency collaboration, noting that NSCDC personnel would work closely with other security agencies to maintain order.
He reassured residents to “celebrate without fear,” adding that all hotspots across the state are fully manned by personnel.
