ADC Launches Global Envoy Network To Engage Foreign Governments

African Democratic Congress (ADC) has established a network of envoys in 12 foreign capitals to engage foreign governments, international media, and diaspora communities.

Gatekeepers News reports that the move is part of a strategic initiative to highlight what the party describes as undemocratic practices and attacks on opposition parties in Nigeria.

The envoys, known as the Special Representatives Network (SRN), will serve as points of contact with governments, parliamentary bodies, and international stakeholders to brief them on Nigeria’s political environment, including governance issues, electoral integrity concerns, and what the party calls biased narratives against opposition groups.

The ADC’s move comes amid internal disputes over leadership recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which recently derecognised the David Mark-led leadership of the party pending court determination of a related case.

The party said the envoys will also help promote democratic accountability and present the ADC as a credible democratic actor and viable alternative in Nigeria’s political landscape.

The capitals targeted for engagement include Washington DC, London, Brussels, Berlin, Ottawa, Paris, Pretoria, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Accra, Geneva, and New York.
