The North East Development Commission, (NEDC) on Thursday presented broadcast equipment to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, (FRCN), and the donation of airport luggage trolleys to the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, (FAAN.)
Gatekepers News reports that the gesture, according to the NEDC is meant to assist the operations of the FRCN and the FAAN within the region .
The Managing Director and Chief Exexutive Officer of NEDC Mohammed G. Alkali, made the donation at the hearquaters of the Commission in Maiduguri , Borno State capital.
The broadcast equipment presented to FRCN include 5 KW transmitter including antenna system and installation,.Type: 5KW RVR transmitter,6-Bay Broadband antenna, Computer for each on air studios, Computer for each production studios, 16 channel professional console, type: OXYGEN 2000 professional console distribution amplifier FM tuner condenser microphones, professional headphones, audio monitor amost others.
Meanwhile, FAAN received 130 airport luggage trolleys at an event which brought together officials from key institutions and stakeholders in the aviation and broadcasting sectors where the development of the North East Region took centre statge.
The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEDC reaffirmed the Commission’s resolve to continue supporting institutions whose responsibilities directly affect the lives of citizens. He noted that access to credible information and efficient public services remain essential to regional growth and stability.
” We are here to support the rebuilding of the North-East in line with our mandate. Our interventions cut across all sectors within the region. We have also made similar gestures to the Police, the military, and the media,” Alkali said.
The Managing Director and Director General of FRCN Mohommed Bulama commended the leadership of NEDC and revealed the the equipment will be a great boost to the operation of radio station within and outside the north east region .
” These equipment will be of immense assistance to our operations. We are also grateful for the provision of solar power to our stations in the North-East by NEDC , as it will significantly increase our hours of operation and enhance efficient service delivery to the public.” Bulama said .
The Regional Manager of the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri, also commended the NEDC for the donation, saying “the trolleys would ease the movement of passengers and luggage, improve travel experience, and enhance operations at the airport”.
