Jigawa chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Ibrahim Kamfani and six other party members over alleged anti-party activities.

Gatekeepers News rwports that the suspension was announced in a statement issued on Monday by the party’s spokesperson in the state, Bashir Kundu.

The spokesman noted that the decision followed complaints and reports accusing the affected members of actions considered harmful to the party’s unity and public image. According to him, the suspension letter was signed by the state APC chairman, Ahmed Garba.

Kamfani, who represents Auyo, Hadejia and Kafin Hausa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was suspended alongside Aisha Adamu Auyo, Yargabi Babannan Auyo, Musa Idris Zabarau, Ibrahim Ayama, Saje Hadiyau, and Sani Abdullahi Hadiyau.

The party said the allegations stemmed from incidents that reportedly occurred in Auyo Local Government Area on May 26, although specific details of the alleged misconduct were not disclosed.

APC officials, however, maintained that the actions of the affected members were capable of causing division within the party and bringing it into disrepute.

Kundu added that copies of the suspension letter had been forwarded to the APC’s North-West zonal office and the party’s national headquarters.

He said the suspension would remain in effect pending the outcome of an investigation by the party’s disciplinary committee, which is expected to recommend further action after submitting its report.
