Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has been announced as one of the performers for FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert scheduled to hold in Los Angeles, United States, on June 10.
Gatekeepers News reports that the concert is part of FIFA’s build-up activities ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
FIFA said the Los Angeles event will take place at the Crypto.com Arena and will feature Davido alongside Major Lazer, led by Diplo, with more artists expected to be announced.
The concert is one of three synchronized shows that will be held across Los Angeles, Toronto and Mexico City, connecting fans through music, football and culture.
According to FIFA, the Countdown Concert series is being organized in collaboration with the Grammys and will serve as a major celebration ahead of the opening matches of the expanded 48-team tournament. The performances will be broadcast globally through FIFA’s digital and broadcast platforms.
Davido’s inclusion further highlights the growing global influence of Afrobeats on major international stages. The singer previously performed on the official FIFA World Cup soundtrack for the 2022 tournament in Qatar and remains one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from June 11 to July 19 across host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, making it the first World Cup to be hosted by three countries and the first to feature 48 teams.
