Troops Raid Terrorist Hideout – Free Three Hostages In Zamfara

Nigerian troops have destroyed a terrorist camp and rescued three kidnapped victims during a military operation in Zamfara State as security forces continue efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating across the North-West.

Gatekeepers News reports that the operation was carried out by troops under Operation Fansan Yamma during a clearance mission targeting terrorist enclaves in the state.

Military authorities said the troops launched an offensive against the criminals’ hideout, leading to the destruction of the camp and the successful rescue of three hostages who had been held in captivity. The victims were freed during the operation and evacuated to safety.

The troops also recovered items used by the terrorists and intensified pursuit operations to prevent the fleeing criminals from regrouping. Security officials said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to deny terrorists and bandits safe havens in Zamfara and neighbouring states.

Recent operations by Operation Fansan Yamma have resulted in the destruction of several terrorist camps, the rescue of kidnapped victims and the recovery of weapons and motorcycles used by criminal gangs.

Military authorities have maintained that pressure will continue on armed groups threatening communities in the region.
