Martins Iyeh and Ijeoma “Mercedes” Emi have become the first housemates to leave the 2026 edition of the Big Brother Naija reality show, tagged “Show Ya Sef.”
Gatekeepers News reports that the eviction was announced by the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during the first live eviction show of the season on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Martins was the first housemate evicted, followed by Mercedes.
According to the voting results released during the show, Martins polled 1.63 percent of the votes, while Mercedes received 2.29 percent. Keivo, who polled 2.92 percent, survived the eviction.
The double eviction leaves 22 housemates in the competition as they continue their race for the grand prize of N160 million.
The official BBNaija update described the night as a double eviction, with Martins becoming the first housemate to leave the “Show Ya Sef” house, while Mercedes’ exit reportedly came as a surprise to the other housemates.
The eviction marks the beginning of the elimination phase of Season 11, with the remaining housemates set to continue competing in tasks, nominations and public voting as the show progresses.
