Oyinlola – Omisore Endorse Oyebamiji For Osun Governorship Election

Former Osun Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Deputy Governor Iyiola Omisore have declared their support for Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the August 15 governorship election in the state.

Gatekeepers News reports that Oyinlola, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), announced the endorsement alongside Omisore, a prominent Osun politician and former National Secretary of the APC.

Speaking on the decision, Oyinlola said Osun State needed a “different direction”, adding that their support for Oyebamiji was based on the belief that he could provide the leadership the state requires.

“We have resolved to officially declare our support for Mr Bola Oyebamiji,” Oyinlola said.

Oyebamiji welcomed the endorsement, describing it as a reflection of a shared conviction that Osun needs a new direction founded on justice, fairness, inclusion and development.

The APC candidate also expressed appreciation to members of the PDP in the state led by Oyinlola for backing his candidacy.

The endorsement comes less than a week before the Osun governorship election, with political parties intensifying their campaigns and mobilisation efforts ahead of the poll scheduled for August 15.

Omisore has also remained actively involved in the APC’s preparations for the election. He recently joined other party elders, including former Governor and former APC National Chairman Bisi Akande, at a meeting where the party’s campaign strategy was reviewed ahead of the poll.

The latest development is expected to strengthen Oyebamiji’s campaign as the APC seeks to unseat the incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election.
