Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemates Aikou and Flora have been released from their Gambit roles and are now eligible to compete for the show’s ₦160 million grand prize.
Gatekeepers News reports that the development was announced during Monday’s episode of the reality show, following a new twist introduced by Biggie, tagged “Operation Release the Gambit.”
Aikou and Flora were previously selected as the first Gambits of the “Show Ya Sef” season. Their special status guaranteed them a place in the house until the finale but meant they could not compete for the grand prize.
However, during Sunday’s live eviction show, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced that viewers would decide whether to release Aikou, Flora or both from their Gambit roles and restore their eligibility to compete for the ₦160 million prize.
The three options presented to viewers were to release Aikou, release Flora or release both housemates.
Following the poll, both housemates were released from their Gambit duties and reinstated as full participants in the competition. This means they can now be nominated for eviction and, if they survive until the end, compete for the season’s grand prize.
Flora had earlier emerged as the female Gambit with 29.38 percent of the votes, while Aikou secured the male Gambit position with 9.10 percent. Their selection initially came with guaranteed safety but at the cost of their eligibility for the ₦160 million prize.
The latest twist brings an end to their weeks of secret missions as Gambits and places both housemates back in the main race for the BBNaija Season 11 title and grand prize.
