Controversial cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has recounted how people allegedly paid him during his childhood to fight those who bullied them.
Gatekeepers News reports that the cleric made the revelation in a yet-to-be-released episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, where he also rejected suggestions that he was a comedian.
“I don’t do comedy. Do I look like a comedian?… And I’m a very dangerous man,” he said.
Recounting his childhood, Odumeje described himself as stubborn and said people would approach him and pay him to confront those who bullied them.
“As a child, I was very dangerous and stubborn. My stubbornness is nowhere to be found… People pay me to fight for them,” he said.
He explained that those seeking his help would pay him in advance and receive a specific date for the fight.
“If someone is beating you now, all you need to do is report the person to me. Then you’d pay me, and I’d give you the date that I would beat the person beating you,” he said.
“The only thing you would do that day is to come. I would warm up and say, ‘Let’s go.’ Around six in the evening, when the main market has closed, so that people would see the way I would beat the person.”
Odumeje previously claimed he joined robbery gang at 14
The cleric has previously made startling claims about his past.
In 2024, Odumeje said he became involved in armed robbery at the age of 14 while growing up in Onitsha, Anambra State.
“I was born in Onitsha city. No 3, Nnewi street. And I grew up in a dangerous street. I became an armed robber at the age of 14,” he said.
He also credited his religious conversion to Jesus Christ and the intervention of his mother.
“I became a terrorist until Jesus Christ arrest me through the help of my mother to change my life… a destroyer become a saviour,” he said.
