Police Service Commission (PSC) has refused the promotion of Ibrahim Magu, a former Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Gatekeepers News reports that the commission said Magu must be cleared at certain offices over his recent corruption allegations before he can be promoted.
These offices include the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation, Minister of Justice, and Office of the Inspector General of Police.
Magu was arrested in July 2020 and made to appear before a presidential panel investigating allegations of corruption and insubordination levelled against him by Abubakar Malami, Nigeria’s justice minister.
Magu and Malami have had repeated disagreements on the anti-corruption war and many Nigerians including a member of a presidential committee on anti-corruption, late Professor Femi Odekunle, believe Magu’s ordeal is part of a power play with Malami.
This is a developing story…
