NCDC Records 40 New COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nigeria has recorded 49 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, 23 May 2021, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 166,019.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this in its daily report.

Lagos recorded 29, Abia-3, Ogun-3, Kano-2 while Kaduna, Plateau, and Rivers had 1 new case each.

Since the outbreak on February 27, 2020, a total of 2,067 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 156,476 have recovered and have been discharged.

In other news, a total of 1,929,237 persons have received the first shot of their jab.

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disclosed this in its COVID-19 Vaccination Update for May 23rd, 2021.
