United States Job openings rose by 998,000 to 9.3 million in April.
Gatekeepers News reports the Labor Department in its monthly Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) said U.S job openings soared to the highest level since December 2000.
JOLTS, in a report released on Tuesday, said more people voluntarily left their job strengthening the view that a recent moderation in job growth was due to supply constraints.
Recruitment slightly increased to 6.1 million in April from 6.0 million recorded in the prior month.
Last week Friday, the government said job growth edged up in May, with employers raising wages, but the pace of hiring was below economists’ expectations for a second straight month.
