1 Dead As Truck Rams Into Crowd At Pride Parade
One person has been confirmed dead and one other injured after a truck driver rammed into the crowd at a Pride parade in South Florida on Saturday.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Mayor of Fort Lauderdale, Dean Trantalis confirmed that the truck driver responsible for the crash has been arrested.

Trantalis described the crash as a deliberate attack on the LGBTQ community but noted that the intention of the driver is still unknown.

The driver whose identity has not been revealed, reportedly acted like he was part of the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade and accelerated suddenly after being asked to move up.

“The investigation into this incident is active and we are considering and evaluating all possibilities,” Fort Lauderdale Police Detective, Ali Adamson said in a statement, adding that the police were working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Gatekeepers News reports that the victims (both male) were taken to a local medical centre where one was pronounced dead and the other is receiving treatment.

“Due to a tragic event, the Stonewall Pride Parade has been cancelled but the festival events will continue,” Wilton Manors Police Department said in a tweet.
