Bye-Election: PDP Wins Kaduna As APC Wins In Jigawa

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the bye-election for Sabo Gari constituency in the Kaduna state house of assembly.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Usman Baba as the winner of the poll in the bye-election for Sabo Gari constituency in the Kaduna state house of assembly.

The seat was declared vacant by the speaker in April after Aminu Shagali, lawmaker representing the constituency, failed to participate in legislative activities for more than 360 days.

The INEC returning officer, Mohammed-Nuruddin Musa declared Baba as the winner of the poll in Zaria, Kaduna, Northwest, Nigeria.

Musa said the PDP candidate won the poll after securing 9,113 votes.

He said candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Musa Musa came second after he polled 7,404 votes.

He added that Anas Abdullahi of the ADC had 62 votes, Chindo Ibrahim of ADP, 61 votes, while Musa Halilu of PRP secured 305 votes.

Similarly, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Yusuf Shitu Galambi as the winner of the Gwaram federal constituency bye-election in Jigawa state.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila declared the Gwaram federal constituency seat vacant after the death of Honorable Hassan Yuguda Kila at the national hospital Abuja after a brief illness.

The returning officer of the bye-election, Professor Ahmed Shehu announced that the All Progressives Congress candidate won the election with 29,372 votes while his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, got 10,047.

“AA scored 490 votes, ADC scored 44 votes, APC scored 29372 votes, APM scored 57 votes, APP scored 18 votes, NNPP scored 26, NRM scored 40, PDP scored 10,047 votes, PRP scored 366,” he said.
