Nigeria’s Ese Brume has made it to the final of the women’s long jump at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.
Gatekeepers News reports that Brume jumped 6.76m meter distance to take the final spot after she finished fourth in Group B.
Reigning World Indoor champion and three-time European indoor champion, Spanovic Ivana of Serbia jumped the longest distance of 7.00m finish first overall in Group B. While current world champion Malaika Mihambo was second with a 6.98m jump. British Virgin Islands’ Chantel Malone (6.82m) finished third.
Brume, 25, finished third to claim the bronze medal at the 2019 World Athletics Championship held in Doha, Qatar.
Gatekeepers News reports that in Group A, Americans Brittney Reese (6.86m) and Tara Davis (6.85m) came first and second respectively, while Swede Khaddi Sagnia (6.76m) and Great Britain’s Abigail Irozuru (6.75m) also qualified in third and fourth places.
The final will start on Tuesday, August 3.
