Blessing Oborududu has secured Nigeria’s second medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
Gatekeepers News reports that Blessing Oborududu has won a silver medal in the women’s 68kg wrestling freestyle at the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.
Oborududu became the second medalist for Nigeria on Tuesday.
The Nigerian wrestler lost the gold slot to her USA opponent Tamyra Mensah-Stock in the final.
With the result ending 4-1, Oborududu became the first Nigerian wrestler to ever win a silver medal at the Games.
She earlier defeated Mongolia’s Soronzonboldyn Battsetseg 7-2 in the semi-finals, Kyrgyzstan’s Meerim Zhumanazarova 3-2 in the quarter-finals, after seeing off Azerbaijan’s Elis Manolova in the Round of 16.
