The Nigerian Senate has rejected the clause seeking to provide for the right of Nigerians in the Diaspora to vote during elections.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Senate rejected the clause during the constitution amendment plenary session.
The Bill seeks to Alter the Provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 to Provide for Diaspora Voting; and for Related Matters.
29 Senators voted in support, while 62 rejected.
