Driver of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle which was boarded by late Oluwabamise Ayanwole has been arrested by the Police.
Gatekeepers News reports the 22-year-old fashion designer went missing after she boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop on Saturday, February 26. She was returning to Ota from Ajah but was however found dead days later.
The deceased had sent a voice note to her friends immediately she sensed that she was in danger, urging them to pray for her safety.
She had also sent a video to her friend showing how dark it was in the bus and said, “There are three men and one woman in the bus. The woman is sitting at the back. That’s the number of the bus in case. Please pray for me.’’
Ayanwole’s demise has been confirmed on Monday by the Lagos State command.
“The Lagos state police command regrets to inform the public that Oluwabamise Ayanwole, the 22-year-old lady who got missing in transit while onboard a BRT bus on 26/2/2022 has been found dead,” Adekunle Ajisebutu, Lagos police spokesperson, had said.
“The corpse was found lying on the Carter Bridge by Ogogoro Community, Lagos Lagos Island. The corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.”
He also said the driver has been arrested and “details will be provided later.”
