Banky W Loses Again As LP Wins Eti-Osa Federal Constituency Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party (LP) as winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives. Gatekeepers News reports that Funmilayo Odukoya, the INEC Returning Officer, announced the results on Sunday evening at the collation centre inside Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1. “That Thaddeus Attah of LP, having satisfied the requirement of the law is hereby declared winner and is returned elected; signed by me. Thank you so much,” Odukoya said. Attah won with 24,075 votes, beating Banky W of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who had 18,666 votes. Babjide Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress (APC) secured the third spot with 16,901 votes. Odukoya said Oladehin Olufemi of the African Democratic Congress received 1,422 votes; Azeez Kabirat of New Nigeria Peoples Party (414 votes), and Olasunkanmi Ololade, Social Democratic Party (207 votes). Banky W, a singer, had contested in 2019 for the same position under the Modern Democratic Party (MDP). He, however, lost to Obanikoro of the APC.

Nigerian singer-cum politician, Olubankole Wellington who is better known as Banky W, has won the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for the House of Representatives, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 elections.

Gatekeepers News reports that Banky W garnered 28 votes to defeat his opponent who got 3 votes.

Banky W’s aide, Kennedy Salami confirmed his victory.

“We have just concluded the elections and he has won.

“We secured the ticket for the House Representatives of Eti-Osa PDP. So, we’re moving on to the next. It was a landslide; we won 28 to 3 votes,” Salami told DailyTrust.

Banky W had contested the House of Representatives seat under the Modern Democratic Party (MDP) in 2019, but lost to Ibrahim Obanikoro of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Banky W, in April, officially joined the PDP to contest again for the seat of Eti-Osa federal constituency in the House of Representatives.

“I will once again be answering the call to serve to represent Eti-Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Some may not agree or understand my decision to run or my choice of the platform but I have learnt that we must engage with Nigeria where it is not where we hope that it should be. We must no longer be content to shout from the sidelines, we must get into the system and fix it.

“The problems in Nigeria are from the top down but the solutions are from the bottom up hence the need for some of us to infiltrate the major platforms that exist in order to build an army of like minds who will enter government with the same agenda,” he had said.
