Court Fixes Date To Hear Suit Seeking DNA Test For Mohbad’s Son

Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Mohbad, has filed a suit in the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Ikorodu seeking a DNA test for his grandson, Liam.

Gatekeepers News reports that the purpose of the DNA test is to establish paternity and determine the rightful heir of the late musician’s estate.

This development was made known through a statement signed by Monisola Odumosu, who is the head of the Aloba family’s legal team. The court is scheduled to hear the case in due course.

The statement said; “A date has been fixed for mention of the application for a DNA test by the family of late singer Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba known as Mohbad, who died in an unusual circumstance on September 12, 2023.

“All necessary legal apparatus are (sic) in place towards the success of the matter. The application is at the Ikorodu Magistrate Court (MKD/31/FAM/2024), Joseph Aloba v Cynthia Omowunmi Aloba.

“The family, represented by the deceased’s father, is seeking an order directing a deoxyribonucleic acid test to be conducted following the paternity of an alleged son of Mr Ilerioluwa Promise Oladimeji Aloba (deceased), Liam Aloba, in a recognised and accredited private or government medical facility within Lagos State, Nigeria at the expense of the applicant.”

Gatekeepers News reports that Mohbad’s father recently called on the police to probe his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi over the cause of the singer’s death.
