President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Tuesday, depart Lagos for Pretoria, South Africa, to attend the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Gatekeepers News reports that the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale revealed this through a statement released on Monday.
Ngelale noted that Ramaphosa’s inauguration follows his run for President for a second term.
The spokesman added that Tinubu will return to Nigeria after the ceremony.
Ramaphosa was re-elected by lawmakers after his party, the African National Congress (ANC) made an unpredicted deal with the Democratic Alliance and other smaller parties.
The Lawmakers voted to put the president back in office for another term which consists of five years after the May 29 general election produced no outright winner.
Recall that during the election, ACN won only 40 per cent of the vote and, for the first time, lost its absolute majority in parliament.
However, the party made a deal to form a “government of national unity”.
Ramaphosa was first sworn in as President of South Africa on Febuary 15, 2018.
