Lagos was on Wednesday morning troubled by torrential rain which left most parts of the metropolis and major roads under water.
Gatekeepers News reports that some residents woke up to find their homes and estates flooded by the rain which began around 2 am.
Surulere, Ijesha, Okokomaiko, Ibeju-Lekki, Greenland Estate in Mende, Gbagada, Oshodi, Isolo, Lekki, Ikoyi, Ogba, Ikeja, Ajah and so on were affected by the flood.
Major roads like Iyana-Oworonshoki link to Third Mainland Bridge, LASU/Iba-Ojo road, Awolowo Road in Ikeja, Apapa-Gbagada expressway, and Lagos-Ibadan highway were flooded. Arterial roads are not left out of affected areas.
Cars parked in pristine estates and garages were submerged before dawn.
In addition, motorists and commuters were left stranded due to the flooding in Alagbado and Ifo areas of Ogun state.
A lot of people including students and workers could not leave their homes because of the flood.
Commissioner for Environment and water resources in the state, Tokunbo Wahab said a team has been deployed to clear the flash floods in some specific parts of Nigeria’s commercial capital.
