Dele Momodu’s Assessment Of Tinubu’s Administration Based On Assumptions – Okupe

Doyin Okupe, a former presidential aide, has countered Dele Momodu’s harsh assessment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, stating that it was based on assumptions rather than facts.

Gatekeepers News reports that Momodu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain,, in an open letter to Tinubu, expressed concerns about Nigeria’s economic situation, describing it as “big trouble” and warning of a “virtually collapsed” economy.

Momodu urged Tinubu to curb excessive spending and prioritise development, citing examples such as purchasing presidential jets and distributing cash as palliatives.

However, Okupe argued that Momodu confused prevailing hardships with economic health and viability.

He pointed to positive growth indices highlighted by Reno Omokri, another former presidential aide, as indications of an imminent economic recovery.

Momodu responded, asserting that Nigerians have never faced a worse economic situation, and questioned why Okupe and Omokri were defending Tinubu’s administration despite its “reckless spending.”

Okupe retorted that Momodu’s assessment was inaccurate and that his claim of praising every president since 1999 was unfounded.
