Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast thundery and rainy weather conditions from Monday to Wednesday across the country.
Gatekeepers News reports that the thunderstorms, according to NiMet’s weather outlook, are expected over several states, including Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kaduna, Taraba, and Bauchi.
NiMet warned residents to avoid flood-prone areas due to the high likelihood of urban flooding in major cities.
“Strong winds may precede the rains in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur. Public should, therefore, take adequate precautions, and adhere to safety advisories issued by relevant authorities,” the agency said.
The agency also advised the public and airline operators to get updated weather reports and forecasts from NiMet for effective planning.
“Residents are advised to stay informed through weather updates from NiMet. Visit our website (link unavailable),” NiMet stated.
