As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Day, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the nation.

Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement released through his Senior Aide, Victor Oshioke, the former Governor of Edo State reflected on Nigeria’s journey since gaining independence in 1960, emphasising the country’s significant achievements and unity over the years.

Oshiomhole acknowledged the numerous challenges that have plagued the nation, but expressed optimism about the future.

“At 64, Nigeria has achieved so much and consolidated her unity. We should all be proud that we have remained a united country, growing together in population and prosperity,” he stated.

He further urged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to embrace patriotism and uphold the values of national unity.

Oshiomhole encouraged all to rise above ethnic, religious, and cultural differences in order to build a stronger and more cohesive nation.

He paid tribute to Nigeria’s fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s unity, describing their contributions as invaluable to the peace and stability the country enjoys today.

The Senator also commended Nigerian entrepreneurs for their role in bolstering economic growth, particularly those making capital-intensive investments aimed at fostering economic independence.

He highlighted that such efforts are crucial to the nation’s prosperity.

Oshiomhole concluded by calling on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, lauding the government’s bold initiatives aimed at steering the nation out of economic challenges. According to Oshiomhole, these steps will ultimately position Nigeria for a brighter and more self-reliant future.
